Repeat these last 5 steps on the other side. You may skip this step if your LED fog light comes standard with its own bezel. Step 3: Lock your fog light's tabs on the right to your bumper. Throw down the wiring harness form the relay and switch kit and connect it to your fog lamp unit. Turn your wheel to give yourself clearance to pop out the clips and pull back the wheel well cover. Step 2: Reveal the installation area behind the wheel well liner. Step 1: Using a plastic pry tool, carefully pry out the stock bezel from the top down to pop it out. We recommend referring to your fog light's corresponding installation guide included in your package or online at our LED fog lighting guide page. For this walkthrough, we will be using the Scion FR-S as a reference. Thanks a Million. This is a general installation guide for how to install our fog lights. Right now I am trying to figure out how to purchase the bezel - I already contacted him via The Forum to put something together. of Indiana to make this job a clean OEM sweep. With this success I am now going to purchase the bezel from Bob C. At any rate I wanted to let you know how simple this all could have been AND give you a big thanks for hanging in there with me on this endeavor. The grease kept the terminals from making a good electrical connection. Here is the story - during the physical installation of these lights I used dielectric grease to keep moisture from entering the connector. This morning I thought I would take the truck out before the big snow storm today and before driving it out of the garage I hit the fog light switch and I was stunned that one of the fog lights went on! I went out and pulled the connector off on the light that wasn't working and reconnected it - an low and behold it worked as well. Not sure what it is missing but i am sure that that it will be small? Lol thanks for your response.Ĭhecked everything out twice thanks to the schematics. That is what i was hoping but no luck - had all the ingredients for a successful outcome but the wonerment soon became a burden. QUESTION: IF THE RANGER IS PREWIRED DO I NEED A DIFFERENT HEADLIGHT SWITCH? AGAIN THANKS - I AM CONFIDENT THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE AN EASY FIX BUT FINDING THE NEEDLE IN THE HAY STACK IS THE HURDLE. THATS WHERE I AM NOW - I WILL CHECK OUT THE FUSE 31 LATER THIS MORNING. IN THE bjb ONE TERMINAL HAS A HOT AT ALL TIMES TERMINAL AND GROUND THAT IS PRETTY APPARENT. WHEN CHECKING VOLTAGES AT THE SWITCH CONNECT THERE IS ONLY THE DIMMER TERMINAL AND OF COURSE THE GROUND THAT IS MEASUREABLE. THE RANGER IS PREWIRED FOR FOG LIGHTS AS THE RELAY TERMINAL HAS THE CONNECTOR TERMINALS, THE WIRING WAS ALL AT THE BUMPER LOCATIONS, AND THE TERMINAL BEHIND THE RADIO BEZEL WAS THERE JUST WAITING TO BE CONNECTED TO THE NEW OEM SWITCH. I AM AT A LOSS RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO START. ALSO, THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION ON THE ABBREVIATIONS - I FEEL KIND OF EMBARRASSED RIGHT NOW BUT IT FITS BETTER THAN IGNORANT. THANKS A MILLION - RECEIVED YOUR WIRING DIAGRAMS AND PICTURES. I have a bezel with foglight switch included for sale if interested. It has been trimmed for a double din head unit. I would assume there is a fuse for the fogs but not 100% sure.I looked in the owners manual for you but a fuse wasn't noted. It did have the wiring terminal clipped to the back of the bezel which is the one I used on for OEM switch. My radio bezel has two auxiliary power plugs but no fog light opening. I also could not find a bezel with a fog light switch switch provision. I had researched the headlight switch and it appears that the headlight switch w/fog lights is no different than the ones without. I could rewire the fog lights but am fighting those suggestions. The instrument light inside the OEM switch variates with the dimmer control.Ĭan anyone tell me what I must do to get these OEM lights working? My bezel does not have any preexisting hole for the OEM switch (OR Does it?) so before I dig a whole in it I want to get this project working. With headlight switch in any position no fog lights. Last installed OEM fog light switch using wiring harness behind the radio bezel. Next installed the relay in the large black fuse box under the hood. All went well with the physical installation of the lights themselves. I have installed OEM fog lights to my Ranger which did not originally come with fog lights.
